The Author

Jessica Dietzler is the author of Spirits of Governance.

She is a multifaceted academic and consultant with BAs in Anthropology and Art History (and a Certificate in Ancient Mediterranean Studies) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2012). She conducted archaeology in the EU and in the United States intermittently from 2005 – 2021. From 2012 – 2017 she lived in the United Kingdom, all over the European Union, crashed couches, slept in many a hostel, worked on a doctoral dissertation in Criminology, and survived it all somehow (sort of… part of her did die). Prior to the doctoral work, Jessica spent over 11 years in academia, over twelve years as a professional in the physical security industry, and has held various customer service jobs since she was 15.

Jessica now lives in the United States and is a Master of Legal Studies (MLS) with a focus on International Human Rights Law.
